Vacances de Printemps Recap #7: Thurins, France

Hello, hello and welcome to the seventh and final vacances de printemps recap post! MTC and I rounded out our vacation at his hometown in Thurins, France. Unlike all the other vacation recaps, this one will be short and sweet! Like our last time in Thurins, I failed to take a single photo over the course of the long weekend – therefore, this post will be a “highlights reel” from the weekend 🙂

Day 1: Feeling the Love
MTC and I arrived Thursday late afternoon and we felt the family love right when we walked through the door. Maybe it’s a bit cheesy, but it’s true! MTC gave his family their gifts from vacation, we enjoyed coffee on the porch, and spent a long time chatting and catching up from vacation. It was lovely 🙂

Day 2: My First French BBQ
Friday night, MTC and I were invited to his friend’s house for a big barbecue! MTC had been talking up how great barbecues are during the summer, so it was exciting to see what all the hype was about. I got the opportunity to meet more of his friend group, which is always nice, and the food was pretty great too! Even more exciting, his friends announced their engagement (!!) and MTC was asked to be a groomsman, so he was on Cloud 9!

Day 3: Here Comes the Sun
The weather on Saturday was spot-on, so I took full advantage of the sunshine, laid out on the back porch, and read Harry Potter. TBH, I feel like I got more tanned after four days of sunshine in France than I did after all last summer spent in Texas. Woo!

Day 4: The Tradition Continues
Last time we were in Thurins, the whole family went to a Chinese buffet for lunch on Sunday; this time, the tradition continued! Great food, great conversation, and great quality time spent together makes for a great time 🙂

Thank you for reading to the end and check back soon for more!

Until next time,

Michaela
