Monthly Recap: July

Helle, hello, hello! The summer is flying by – I can’t believe it’s already the end of July and that grad school (!!) will be starting up in less than a month!

I’ve taken a bit of a vacances from the blog (how very French of me, haha) but come August, I’ll be cranking out more regular blog posts, so stay tuned for those!

Without any further ado, here’s what I’ve been up to during the month of July!

What I’ve Been Up To
Where May and June were pretty low-key, July was a step up!

1. I spent the first week of July at one of my favorite places: church camp! I had the privilege to serve as a Middlers (i.e. the middle school-aged kiddos) counselor and I had the BEST time. I left with a peaceful soul and one that was so filled with His never-failing love – it was absolutely everything that I needed.

2. L arrived for a three-week visit to the States!!!! Woohoo!! My heart is so, so full!!

3. We’ve gone on quite a few adventures together, but you’ll hear about those in another post 😉

Where I’ve Been
I haven’t been traveling a crazy amount in July, but I did spend the first week of July down in central Illinois at church camp. It was a lovely, crazy, Jesus-filled week spent with amazing and super sweet kiddos. And just a week and a half later, L arrived! Together, we’ve explored areas around my home and visited Starved Rock. Finally, we crossed state lines over the Indiana where we enjoyed an afternoon at Pierogi Fest (where L had his first pierogi and loved it!). We’ve got some fun destinations planned for the last leg of his trip, which will be posted on the blog soon.

What I’ve Watched
Unlike the months of May and June, my Netflix binging has been pretty minimal. I’m still working on rewatching “The Office” and a bit of “Friends” as well. In regards to movies, I watched the newest “Beauty and the Beast” (I loved it!), “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” (#throwback), and “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” (great movie – really funny!). I’m working through “Amélie” (L was shocked that I’d never seen it) but I keep falling asleep after 30 minutes. At this rate, I’ll get through it in a few days!

What I’m Reading
I only read 5 books in July (a very low summer average for me) but they were all pretty great! I just picked up my next read (Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly ) and while I’m only 20 pages in, I think it will be a pretty good one too. As stated in my May and June Recap post, I’ll be publishing a separate blog post of all the books I read this summer, so stay tuned for that.

What I’m Listening To
I’m loving the song “Tequila” by Dan and Shay! Every time it comes on the radio, I automatically turn it up and belt the lyrics 🙂

And that’s a wrap on my July! Thanks for reading and come back soon for more!

Until next time,
